The symbols incorporated into the skull narrate the emotions and experiences of every human being:

The skull is a true map of life.
A heart to represent love, passion, and affection.
A clover, symbol of divinity.
The eyes, which speak of mystery and curiosity.
The crosses tell of sufferings, while the stars celebrate achievements.
And then the flower, reminding us of the beauty of nature.

These simple truths, combined with the profound meaning of the skull, remind us how important it is to find joy and meaning in the small things in life.

A Día de los Muertos skull in relief emerges from a white background, crossed by the phrase “Pain is inevitable, suffering though is a choice” engraved like graffiti across the entire surface, frame included.

The work explores the boundary between pain and suffering between what happens to us and what we choose to hold on to.

The pure white becomes a space of truth; the skull’s relief, a symbol of awareness matter that heals through its own fracture.

Within the Naked Truth series, Kintsugi represents healing as both an aesthetic and spiritual act.

Scars, whether visible or internal, are not erased but transformed into signs of identity and value.

Pain vs. Suffering is a dialogue between resistance and surrender, between the inevitability of pain and the freedom not to suffer.

An invitation to recognize the crack, move through it, and let it shine in gold.
