"MAKE BANANAS GREAT AGAIN"

With “Make Bananas Great Again”, Alvin intertwines irony and social commentary, reinterpreting two iconic symbols of contemporary art.

Andy Warhol's banana, a hallmark of Pop Art, is transformed into a cautionary symbol of our era’s fragility: rendered imperfect, it drips slowly, losing its "juice" – a poignant reminder of our responsibility to care for the planet.

Suspended in a turquoise void that amplifies its isolation, the banana is held in place by duct tape, a nod to the surreal irony of Maurizio Cattelan.

Yet, the tape is merely an illusion, symbolizing instability and precarious balance.

Alvin completes the work with the claim “MAKE BANANAS GREAT AGAIN,” a sardonic twist on a political slogan that imbues absurdity with meaning.

This piece reflects the enduring cycle of pop icons – worn out yet endlessly reinvented – while posing profound questions about authenticity in a world shaped by propaganda and consumerism.
